In his remarks, the Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, S.T., MM, said that currently 68 percent of Lampung residents were in productive age (15-65 years), making Lampung Province potentially enjoy the demographic bonus, even before 2028.
"Demographic bonuses can be a big opportunity, but if the quality of our human resources is still low, then those who enjoy progress are not the people of Lampung," he said.
Furthermore, Kiai Mirza, commonly called, revealed that the Lampung Human Development Index (HDI) is still relatively low, namely the last ranking in Sumatra and the 20th nationally where the low number is driven by inadequate quality of education.
"Only 21-22 percent of high school graduates continue to college, and only about 62 percent of junior high school graduates who enter high school and this condition continues to occur every year and hamper the increase in Lampung HDI," he said.
Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Sc. MAY. (Chairperson of the Central Aptisi) in his presentation said, the budget allocation for the education sector of 20 percent is the mandate of Article 31 paragraph (4) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia which states that the state must prioritize the education budget of at least 20 percent of the state budget, but in reality we are still 12.5 percent even previously still at 7 percent
"What we have to fight for is how in this case it can emphasize the Reform Law whose obligations are 20% for the allocation of national education our economic growth is at 5.4% so our economic growth is problematic.
